Testimonials
As a newly appointed Middle Leader, the trust’s support has been of great value and use. It is really fantastic that we have such excellent working relationships which I feel has greatly helped my first year as a Middle Leader. The trust has a commitment to informing me of all the latest information I may need, and regular meetings with the Head and our senior leaders, has meant that I have become further familiar with our trust ethos, values and the dreaded data! I feel fully supported within this new role and I am looking forward to furthering my teaching career under the guidance of the Riviera Education Trust.
Jodie Chubb – Phase Leader, Shiphay Learning Academy
The entire SLE team from Riviera have been knowledgeable and supportive to our School in challenging circumstances. Stewart as NLE has been able to access funding streams and facilitated opportunities for our staff to develop their CPD. We have valued the friendly approachable manner of this support network.
Jess Humphrey – Executive Headteacher, Bay Education Trust
We had the pleasure of the Riviera Education Trust supporting us with our Pupil Premium provision and it had a significant impact on our provision for the children. Stewart brought with him several members of his talented team, many of whom are regionally renowned for their specialisms, who provided advice and challenge to all areas of the curriculum. Having visited Oldway and seen their strategies for myself, it was great to be given practical, tangible advice which continues to make a difference to our outcomes. Riviera's team's openness and genuine interest in our setting and school has resulted in the partnership continuing even past the set time scale for the project. I'd fully recommend the Riviera Education Trust to support in whatever capacity you require.
James Hitchens – Headteacher, Penryn Primary Academy
Since becoming a year leader in 2015, I have always been supported and encouraged to develop my leadership skills. I was given the opportunity to complete the NPQML which gave me invaluable knowledge and practical advice on being a leader. I am supported as a year leader through regular year leader meetings, coaching opportunities, and am encouraged to develop my own areas of interests. I am passionate about the teaching of phonics and was supported by the trust in becoming the school's phonics lead.
Sarah Jones – Year Leader, Oldway Primary School
Since joining the trust as a Newly Qualified Teacher last September, the support I have received has been really valuable in my transition from trainee to class teacher. Throughout the year, the trust NQT programme has provided regular opportunities to meet with other NQTs across the trust, leaders in education and in-school subject leaders to share experiences and discuss any issues. Through the Trust’s Teaching School Alliance, I have accessed regular high-quality CPD opportunities that have allowed me to develop my subject knowledge, classroom practice and well-being. My colleagues within the trust are all approachable and willing to offer any support they can, whether that be with planning a unit of work or just to act as a listening ear. I am confident that the support I have received this year has allowed me to develop as a reflective, resourceful practitioner, well equipped to approach my RQT year.
Beth Tape – Classteacher, Oldway Primary School
Being part of a fantastic Trust while completing my NQT year has been thoroughly rewarding and beneficial. The support from colleagues from both the school that I work at, and all other schools within the Trust meant that endless training opportunities were offered, as well as sharing experiences with other NQTs and RQTs. This continues to be an extremely supportive network as we often travel between schools for a variety of training purposes to share knowledge and experiences across the Trust. The community feel among all staff has made my teacher training memorable, enjoyable, and has equipped me well as I continue through my second year.
Melissa McDade – Classteacher, Roselands Primary School
As a school we find the support of the Teaching School invaluable. It gives core support for our Maths and English leads, not just keeping us up to date but enabling us to look forward and develop. We really appreciate the breadth of the curriculum they support - CPD for non core subjects has been incredibly hard to source in recent years and our subject leaders are able to at the very least have a network they can turn to and work with. We have also valued the support for leadership - the regular briefings are informative and thought provoking, and are again a rare opportunity to network with local senior leaders.
