The Riviera Training School Alliance (RTSA), formerly Torbay Teaching School Alliance, began as a cohort one teaching school. One of the first teaching schools in the country, we have a successful track record of delivering high quality CPD for teachers, teaching support staff and governors, and are proud to bring national developments to our local context, keeping our member schools at the forefront of current educational practice.

As the Appropriate Body lead for ECTs through SWIFT Kingsbridge Teaching School Hub (TSH), we provide detailed programmes to support teachers as they begin their professional careers, then as they move forward, our RQT and class teacher CPD helps them to hone their skills. For those wanting to move into leadership our middle leaders, aspirant head and senior leader CPD and briefings provide all the relevant opportunities, knowledge and understanding to help develop tomorrow's leaders today.

As a school we find the support of the Teaching school invaluable. It gives core support for our Maths and English leads, not just keeping us up to date but enabling us to look forward and develop. We really appreciate the breadth of the curriculum they support - CPD for non core subjects has been incredibly hard to source in recent years and our subject leaders are able to have a network they can turn to and work with.
