Chief Finance Officer
Riviera Education Trust
Grade M, 44 (£47,982) – 47 (£51,399)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful and progressive Multi Academy Trust based in Torbay, Devon. Trustees are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to become Chief Finance Officer in a key role that supports the Trust’s ambition and aspirations.
The Trust currently has three schools, with 2 nurseries, extended community facilities including a swimming pool, and works closely in partnership with regional Hubs, including teaching school, maths and music. The strategic plan is to continue to grow the Trust, both within and beyond Torbay, and our strategic plan can be viewed on our website.
The Chief Finance Officer reports directly to the CEO whilst being part of an experienced Senior Leadership Team and works alongside Heads of School and Trustees to support the operational and strategic objectives of Riviera Education Trust. The role is responsible for leading all financial business management and reporting across the organisation whilst ensuring processes and systems are adhering to the requirements of the Academies Financial handbook. This includes statutory reporting and returns. However, the successful candidate should demonstrate personal qualities to reflect that alongside the regularity functions, the organization is striving to support the inspirational learning and development of thousands of young individuals in a caring and nurturing environment with committed teams of staff.
The Finance team is centralised and the Trust has implemented the ACCESS budgeting and finance system earlier this year, experience of this or a similar software package would be advantageous. The CFO also works closely with the HR team to ensure payroll processes are accurate and compliant.
Recently, the Trust has been successful in both CIF bids and Salix funding, and would look to the CFO to actively develop this area and source and apply for grant funded initiatives. The role also involves further developing the processes around procurement and management of Trust wide contracts, and working with the operations manager to secure best value whilst negotiating terms and conditions and performance targets.
Riviera Education Trust supports flexible working.
